Description

FINAL FANTASY XV is an action role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix in 2016. It tells the story of Noctis Lucis Caelum who travels the fantasy world of Eos in order to reclaim his kingdom from the empire of Niflheim.

Windows Edition of the game is aimed at PC users and offers the base game, as well as a complete collection of DLCs and expansions included in the season pass. It also comes with support for higher resolution displays and HDR10 for a much better visual experience, never seen in the game before. On top of that, it offers multiple other additions, such as mod organizer tool for convenient management of installed game modifications.

FINAL FANTASY 15 Windows Edition contains: base game, DLCs, Expansion packs. These include additional episodes (Gladiolus, Prompto, Ignis) and Comrades (a multiplayer expansion), as well as Booster Pack+ and Holiday Pack+. There is also a collection of additional items, such as the Fangler set, camera kit, and Masamune sword. Edition also comes with new features, namely first-person mode, exclusive Royal Cruiser to conquer the waters, and Armiger Unleashed, which is a more powerful version of the Armiger mode. There are also new achievements to get, as well as a new map to explore – Insomnia City Ruins: Expanded Map.

It is also worth mentioning the compatibility with mod organizer tool designed to make managing game mods easier, introduction of high-resolution 4K texture pack and HDR10 support to further enhance already stunning graphics.

Gameplay

The game represents a 3D action role-playing genre and takes place in an open world, giving players freedom in exploring the environment. Players will be able to control Noctis who is accompanied in his journey by Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis. Players will spend most of their time on fighting enemies in dynamic battles, and on managing and developing the team between story-driven encounters. Noctis’ companions are controlled by AI and will help him in battle by performing given commands, but the controlled character can be switched on-the-go.

Reception

The game met with a positive response. Its sale numbers is a good measurer of its success – it sold over million copies on Steam. Reviewers and players of the Windows Edition of the title praised good optimization, resulting in fast and smooth gameplay. They also loved gorgeous graphics, especially considering the introduction of high-resolution textures. A multitude of side activities and an entertaining story were also positively noted.
