Need for Speed Heat gameplay
Need for Speed Heat is a racing game set in an open world environment called Palm City, a fictional version of the city of Miami, Florida and its surroundings. The game map features a diverse geography, including mountainous areas and open fields. Unlike Need for Speed Payback , the game does not include a 24 hour day / night cycle, but the Players can alternate between day and night. During the day, players can participate in licensed racing events, which reward players with cash to spend on new cars and upgrades. During the night, players can participate in illicit street races, which rewards REP.
The overnight races will attract the attention of a rogue police task force patrolling the streets of Palm City. They are tasked with shutting down the street races in Palm City, which can lead players to risk their earned reputation against the police or lose their winnings in handcuffs. Chases in Palm City can take place during the day or night, but the PCPD's response to a chase differs by time period. Players get reputation for participating in activities, with larger amounts offered overnight than during the day. Each heat level is also equal to the amount a player's earned reputation will be multiplied by for a current night session, should they successfully reach a shelter or garage.
Arrests
If players are arrested in Need for Speed Heat they will lose their REP multiplier, but they will still receive their REP without multiplying. La mecánica del multiplicador REP funciona de manera similar al multiplicador de puntos de velocidad de los rivales. The game also features a story in which players interact with the city's police force, led by the authority figure, Lieutenant Frank Mercer. Players can smash hidden neon flamingos on the map, which rewards them with a small amount of money or representative depending on the time of day. They can also find graffiti, known as "Street art" in-game, and submit it to the livery editor for use on your car (s).
Lastly, they can complete activities in the open world, such as breaking billboards, passing scores in drift zones, obtaining the highest speeds by going through speed traps, and traveling the longest distances when taking long jumps. Players can complete “Crew Time Trials,” allowing them to complete short-time events in an attempt to rank # 1 on their Crew Leaderboard.
Vehicles in Need for Speed Heat
Need for Speed Heat features 127 cars from 33 manufacturers, and Ferrari will return after being absent from Payback due to licensing issues. Unlike Payback , performance upgrades no longer come on random Speedcards and are unlocked by winning REPs and races. The game does not include loot boxes; however, time savers, which display collectibles on the map, and paid downloadable content were included.
Electronic Arts launched the app NFS Heat Studio for iOS and Android devices . Users can collect and customize their cars, which can be imported into the main game at launch.
On June 8, 2020, it was announced that the game would have support for cross-platform play starting on June 9 as part of the final game patch.
Need for Speed Heat storyline
In Need for Speed Heat The Gamer (male gamer voiced by Andrew Lawrence , jugadora con la voz de Jamie Gray Hyder ) comes to Palm City for the Speedhunter Showdown, a city-wide exhibition that draws racers competing in all-day licensed races, and illegal street races. In the evening. Lieutenant Frank Mercer (Josh Coxx), leader of the police high-speed task force, announces his intention to arrest all street racers in the city.
The player buys his first car from Lucas Rivera (Jonny Cruz), Local mechanic and former street racer, who also helps the player participate in his first Showdown race and becomes his mentor. Lucas's younger sister, Ana Rivera (Ana Marte), is a street runner whose team recently disbanded after the task force nearly killed one of her friends.
Ana introduces player to The League, a team of Palm City's best street racers, which Lucas almost joined until he stopped running after his father died suddenly. Ana and the player form a new team to rise through the ranks of street racers and earn a spot in La Liga. After winning a race, Ana and the player confront Officer Shaw (Josh Collins) of the Mercer task force, who has Ana's Nissan 350Z impounded.
Revelations
After another run, they witness Shaw meeting with task force officer Eva Torres (Shontae Saldana). Shaw shows Torres bags of money in his car, extorted from street racers on Mercer's orders. Torres grabs a bag but warns that Mercer's nerve is putting them in danger. Ana steals her father's 1967 Chevrolet Camaro from Lucas's store so she can join the player in a final showdown against a rival team, but her career is cut short by Shaw. The player overturns Shaw's car, scattering the extorted money on the street, creating a spectacle that arouses public suspicion of Mercer's Task Force. However, Lucas gets angry because Ana uses her father's car without permission.
Torres contacts Ana and the player, who admits that the task force is corrupt, but wants Mercer to be eliminated. because it's too reckless. Torres takes them to a warehouse that acts as an illegal junkyard shop, dismantling the cars seized by the High Speed Task Force or preparing them to be shipped out of town. Ana realizes that her 350Z has been processed after finding her license plate.
Showdown
The player and Ana attempt to expose Mercer by crashing at a Showdown event, leading local police and media to the junkyard, but it turns out to be deserted and empty. Ana and the player return to Lucas's garage to find him tied up and tortured by Mercer. Mercer reveals that he anticipated their plans after seeing them with a secret camera in his store. Mercer forces the player and Ana into his police car, but Lucas, having escaped from his bonds, intercepts them in his father's Camaro and attacks Mercer's car.
Ana steals Mercer's laptop and escapes with Lucas and the player. Lucas takes them to a hideout and admits to Ana that he quit street racing because he believes his father's fatal heart attack was caused by learning of his street racing arrest that same night.
Incriminations
Ana and Lucas send incriminating files from Mercer's computer to various outlets, proving his corruption and forcing him into hiding, then they learn that Mercer is preparing the stolen cars in their possession for export before fleeing Palm City. Since they do not know which police officers are accomplices or innocent, Ana and Lucas convince La Liga and other crews to simultaneously incite and take as many police cars as possible to the port where the stolen cars are loaded. Faced with a swarm of police officers and street racers, Mercer tries to escape in a BMW M3 GTR. The player chases down and wrecks Mercer's car, leaving it in the hands of Torres, who pulls the gun from him in response to his threats and is implied that he shot her.
More than a week later, Mercer is missing and is presumed dead. Torres has been promoted to lead the High Speed Task Force and she announces her commitment to ending street racing. Lucas, having reconciled with Ana, gives her the keys to her father's repaired Camaro. Now, The League members, the player, and Ana plan to continue competing and face future challenges together.
